Why did I only discover this today? This is the Corvette Shooting Brake that everyone wants! (Except it's Italian and not really a shooting brake...sorta) Based on the C6 chassis, it produces around 600 hp, does 0-60 in around 3-4 seconds, and looks sorta like the mating of the Batmobile and the modern Stratos. Anyways, the only reason I found out about it was by playing around on 3Dt, where all a manner of stupid alterations can be made... (No pic, cuz 3Dt was being stupid, but you can see an infinite number of them in the gallery if you search "svs")
But here's the real thing, and damn, it looks pretty good despite obvious Vette cues (B pillar, ahem)
Convertible Monza sister car
(Images property of respective sources since Kinja is not letting me post a link...)
And Jalop article about it back in '08, when it was released...

I remember it from Forza 3! The concept also had a silly feature where it would display your speed on the back of the car.
Just to brag how fast/slow you were going.

Oooooooooooh, so it's that car that had that feature...I remember reading about a rear-mounted speedo somewhere but never noticed that it was on a shooting-brake Italian Vette...

This is as awful as a Mantide. Sentence? THE CRUSHER.

No. Not "The" Italian Corvette that isn't the Mantide. It's "An" Italian Corvette that isn't a Mantide. Above is quite possibly one of the prettiest cars I've ever seen. The 1964 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina.
Here's the '61 Corvette Vignale.
And here's the 1959 Corvette Scaglietti. Also one of the prettiest cars I've seen.

Italdesign Giugiaro did a C5-based Corvette called the Moray.
C6-based Zagato-designed Perana Z-One.
Here's a Ghia-bodied Corvette from 1957.

Here's the '84 C3-based Bertone Corvette Ramarro. The doors slide forward.

Ok, ok, I knew this would raise some tensions...I just meant that the Mantide was very similar to the Spada in design and basis, as well as the fact that it's probably the most well known in the recent past, so most comparable... (And I won't argue that the Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina isn't beautiful. Because Pininfarina.)

The Scaglietti is a little too Ferrari for my tastes (in terms of Vette designs) but it is beautiful.

I agree completely. It literally looks like a Ferrari plopped on top of a Corvette chassis. But that's no bad thing.

Ah, I see. Yeah, no "tensions" intended. Anything opportunity give me an excuse to post Italian-bodied Corvettes is an opportunity I'll take.
And yeah, the Rondine is probably in my top 3 most beautiful cars of all time.

Figured as much. Seeing all these Italian Vettes reminds me of the Alfa-Romeo Viper, which no one seemed to like but I thought was not bad...

In a similar vein, I kinda enjoy the chubby, surprised look of the Vignale... XD

I will pass on the Ghia, however...

Yeah, I thought the Alfa Viper was pretty cool, too.

The Vignale looks like a fencing mask meets a Volkswagen SP2. But it's really endearing to me, too.

Yeah, the Ghia is a bit too fussy and upright for me.
